College football has returned, and there is nothing like a Georgia Bulldogs game day weekend.
I’ve stayed in Athens, GA several times, but nothing makes the game day experience greater than staying in Opulence Vacation Rentals “The Executive Loft.”
It’s located in the heart of downtown Athens and in prime reach of UGA’s Sanford Stadium and several local hotspots.
GAME DAY ESSENTIALS
Set aside time to arrive early and enjoy the pre-game festivities. Getting a good seat before kickoff is important but so is catching some of the traditions like "Dawg Walk," where the team walks through a crowd of fans before entering the stadium.
When the Georgia Bulldog football games take place at UGA’s Sanford Stadium, parking is something you want to plan for.
PARKING
Be sure to arrive early to find parking. There are several public parking lots and garages, with street parking being an option as well.
Some popular parking areas include the North Campus Parking Deck and the Tate Student Center parking lot.
There are also 2 city owned garages close by located at College Avenue and Washington Street. The first thirty minutes are free in both city garage decks, after which it’s just $1.00/hour.
Street spots are also available on a first come first serve basis.
Staying in Opulence’s Executive Loft ensures that you’ll have an easier time navigating the traffic and parking compared to staying at a standard hotel. You can just walk!
BREAKFAST
The Downtown Athens, Georgia scene is undeniably beautiful and perfect scenery for enjoying breakfast. Here’s a couple of breakfast spots that will hit the spot as you fuel up for game day! Each restaurant is located near Opulence’s “The Executive Loft” gameday suite and has a unique charm and appeal of its own.
Location: 393 N Finley St, Athens, GA 30601 (Around 0.9 miles from Sanford Stadium). With breakfast, brunch/lunch, and dinner options available, Big City Bread Café is known for its range of fresh-baked pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and quiches in a cozy setting.

197 Oak St, Athens, GA 30601 (About 1 mile from Sanford Stadium) Open from 7a-2:30pm daily, come in for classics like the Georgia Peach French Toast, Buttermilk Biscuits, and a refreshing glass of Strawberry Lemonade.
BRUNCH/LUNCH
No matter how you brunch or lunch, these midday delights are sure to hit the spot.

Clocked is a popular downtown Athens location offering a great selection of burgers and fries. Their cuisine definitely lives up to their company motto “Out of This World Burgers and Fries!”

With Latin-inspired and Southern influences as its cuisine, Cali N Tito’s is a unique spot for brunch and lunch. This restaurant features flavorful Latin-inspired fare. The vibrant atmosphere adds to the dining experience.
Dinner
